Confirmation – Our own, personal Pentecost.

Nathan By Nathan1 min read694 views
The fire of Pentecost comes to everyone in Confirmation.

At the first Pentecost, the Holy Spirit rushed on Jesus’s disciples and became visible as tongues of flame. The Holy Spirit filled each one with a zeal to spread the Gospel and the fortitude to endure any hardship. Rather than hiding behind locked doors, the Apostles boldly went forth to proclaim the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, their Savior.

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, each Catholic gets to share in the same fullness of the Holy Spirit poured out on the Apostles at Pentecost. If you’re feeling timid about being Catholic, or lukewarm in the walk of faith, pray and ask the Lord to stir up the gifts that you received in the sacrament of Confirmation.

Jesus told us that God does not ration the Holy Spirit. “If you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.” Luke 11:13
