Helpers – Blessed with a Servant’s Heart.

Have you noticed that some people seem to have a special instinct for helping people? People with the gift of helps have received a spiritual gift for performing works of mercy. Saints like St. Teresa of Kolkatta and St. Vincent de Paul lived this gift out with saintly perfection. Not only do they serve the poor themselves, they also stir us all up to go further in helping others in need.
While all Christians are called to do works of mercy, God does call and gift some of us with a special love and aptitude for service. If you have the gift of helps, you will find that you notice needs that others seem to ignore and find great joy in helping others. If, on the other hand, helping others is hard for you, ask God to give you the gift of helps to enable you to give of yourself more generously.
