Do God’s Will by Following the Moral Law
One way to do God’s will is by doing battle with the opposite of God’s will: temptation. God never wants us to sin or do evil. Understanding and living according to the moral law in the teachings of the Church, the “Thou Shalt Not’s”, gives us guard rails that prevent us from running off the road God wants us to travel.
Sin destroys. Relationships, material goods, physical and spiritual health, plans… name any good thing and there’s some sin that can corrupt and destroy it.
Jesus tells us that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Sin is the devil’s primary weapon against us. We should seek to destroy sin in our life with the same zeal that we try to kill an infestation of cockroaches in our home.
