An Experiment with Short Fiction

I’ve just published my first work of short fiction on Kindle Vella. It’s called “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.” It’s a little different from what you might expect from my writing. Maybe a little darker, edgier. I hope you enjoy it.

“Sara dreams of dating one of the most popular guys at school but he doesn’t know she exists. In desperation, she goes to a ‘spiritual advisor’ who promises supernatural power that will help her steal Ryan’s heart. Will the power she discovers win her true love? Or destroy her completely?”
The cool thing about Kindle Vella is that is specifically designed for publishing serial stories. That means that I can write additional chapters to the story if people want to hear more. It even has a polling feature so I can ask my readers about what I’ve written and what they want to see happen in the story. I can see this particular feature being kind of fun if the story or any other fiction I publish as a Vella picks up any steam.
One note – the cover art for the story was drawn by Fran Kennedy, the very talented daughter of my boss at the food bank. I gave her the story and a simple idea of what I wanted, and this is what she drew. I am very pleased with her work.
